We are Dan (29 years old and L in pic above) and Lachy (33 years old and R in pic above).
Dan grew up in the south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne and Lachy hails from Geelong, which is where we are now both based. We met in August of 2015 and have seen and done so much in our time together. Shortly after meeting, we decided to take a leap of faith and uprooted ourselves to London where we worked/travelled/lived for 18 months. The experience taught us so much, allowing us to grow both as a couple and as individuals. We returned home in 2017 and have since been setting up our little life in Geelong.
We both work as secondary school teachers, highlighting a shared passion for education. Lachy is a Drama teacher, Dan Commerce. Our nights are often filled with many stories of our days in the classroom, with there never being a shortage of things to discuss! We both find our work immensely rewarding and love the opportunity to connect with young people on a daily basis.
Also in our home are our two beautiful Whippet boys Crawley (Downton Abbey reference for those who may appreciate it!) and Spencer, who keep us on our toes and our hearts very full.
Adding to the little life we have set up for ourselves, there are many things we love and enjoy. Lachy is an avid musical theatre fan (it would be impossible to recount the number of shows he has seen) and has also himself performed in a range of local musicals and plays. Dan can happily watch game after game of AFL, even if his beloved Saints are a frequent source of frustration. We also really love our ‘extended’ family (see below), Oprah, Whoopi & Queen Bey, alongside us and all getting the Simpsons treatment.

We also love to travel and are so grateful for the many places we have visited thus far. A real highlight was trekking through the Rwandan jungle in 2017 to visit a family of Gorillas up close; an unforgettable experience.
There is a lot of information to research, take in and digest but we are keen to continue to learn about the experiences of those who have been involved in similar experiences; be that egg donors, intended parents or surrogates. We have been so amazed by the willingness of those within this community to give couples like us the gift of a family. We are always available to chat further, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us.
Thank you for taking the time to read our intro and we look forward to chat more with you all.
Dan and Lachy x
