On the road again…

We are incredibly excited to share that another bundle of Marjoy is on the way, arriving August 2026!

We’ve been quietly going through the process again since mid-last year, keeping our hopes high, but still appreciating that nothing about these bumpy roads is ever guaranteed.

It’s felt very different this time around, for a range of reasons. Firstly, we have our Ernie. We’ve been Dads for over three years now, and will be forever more. We’ve always felt we should be allowed to expand our family and give Ernie a sibling, just like any family with these desires, but with Ernie already part of our lives, that feeling of sheer desperation isn’t as strong (a very fortunate position to be in, we’ll add). Secondly, we know the process. We’ve felt better prepared, had fewer unknowns and were able to better brace ourselves for all the steps/costs/frustrations along the way. Thirdly, and incredibly significantly, we’re doing this with Erin again. Erin had always said to us she’d have a sibling for Ernie if it was something we wanted.

Remarkably, Erin has birthed another surro baby since having Ernie, so we waited patiently until she and her body were ready to do this once again. Knowing that Erin is carrying for us again has made this journey feel safe, predictable and all the more exciting given when we see Erin next, not only will that mean our new arrival is imminent, but Ernie will be reunited with her nearly four years since he entered the world himself. We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again, but there are no adequate words to express our gratitude for the extent to which Erin has changed our lives. She knows how we feel; we’re in awe of what she’s doing.

As always, we share this news with a lot of sensitivity in mind. Whilst this is of course a post filled with joy, it will sting for some reading it who so wish to be able to share happy news of this nature themselves. We know what that feels like. For those of you on your own bumpy roads, we wish things could be easier and we hope that you too will have good news on the horizon. The world of IVF and infertility remains incredibly complicated and it’s so important to always be mindful that even people in our closest circles may be going through very quiet and difficult struggles.

Our promise is that we raise Ernie and his future sister (mic drop – we’re gonna be girl dads!) to be humble, kind and respectful little people.
